Sponges are one of the best tools for makeup and being a part of the women’s cosmetic collection. They are used to spread the makeup and its essentials flawlessly and creatively on the face. They can also give a finish that looks like airbrushing. Almost every women’s cosmetic collection has to have a makeup sponge that is used almost every working day. But as an important tool they are, it is also essential to take care of them and clean them regularly to ensure that they become home to bacteria or other germs. Because makeup sponges are used often, they tend to get dirty quite quickly. So, to avoid getting them dirty, here are some of the ways through which you can correctly clean your makeup sponge:
- Cleaning them with Soap or Cleanser:
This one of the easiest ways to clean your makeup sponge is with soap or a cleanser. To do that, you just need to soak the sponge in warm water mixed with soap. Then using small and circular motions, rub the dirty sponge in the palm of your hand. This will remove all the excess makeup out. Now, continue this process until you are satisfied with the result. You can also clean your makeup sponge simply by soaking them up in warm soapy water. Then leave them inside for about 30 minutes. This will help remove the foundation and excess makeup product from the sponge. Once taken out, dry it using a towel, and ensure that it’s free from moisture before you use it again. - Cleaning the makeup sponge Using a Microwave:
To clean your sponge using a microwave, you need to soak them in a cup of warm, soapy water and leave them outside for a few minutes. Then squeeze the excess water out and when it becomes fully saturated, put it back into the liquid. Now, you need to put the cup with the sponge into a microwave for one minute. After a minute, take out the cup and wait for the water to cool down. Once cooled down, take it out and dry it using a clean towel and use it.
